Michael Zenreich

Michael Zenreich’s creative journey began in the early 1970s, when he left architectural school
at CCNY to immerse himself in the world of art and painting at Pratt Institute. His passion for
visual expression was so compelling that, by the end of the decade, his painting portfolio earned
him a spot at Yale School of Architecture. For over forty-five years, Zenreich balanced a thriving
architectural career with raising a family, but art remained the heartbeat of his creative spirit.

Now, having returned to his artistic roots, Zenreich’s work invites viewers into a realm where
stillness and quietude reign. His pieces are intended to be absorbed slowly, with each glance
revealing new layers of meaning.

Central to his practice is the exploration of order and chaos—two opposing forces that, through
the lens of geometry, mathematics, and color, expose the hidden symmetries within nature.
Zenreich's medium of choice today is the digital canvas, where the possibilities of endless
variations and the rich beauty of digital prints captivate him.

His work weaves the organic with the geometric, combining the natural world with precise,
abstract forms. This synthesis creates a visual tension that is both complex and open-ended,
offering an invitation for the viewer to explore and find their own interpretations.
